Learning Outcomes
After the course, students gain a basic understanding how local area networks operate. Students learn about network components, structure of local area networks, models, and protocols. The students know the basic features of cable connected LANs and wireless LANs (WiFi). Students know the types of cables to interconnect devices, the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, switch connected LANs, the principles and structure of IP addressing and the network operations. Students are able to build a simple LAN, verify and troubleshoot connectivity.
Student's Workload
16h of lectures and 24h of lab exercises.
