Learning Outcomes
After this course, the student has a basic understanding of the chemical phenomenon behind Li-ion batteries, different battery types, and how to utilize them in various applications. The student also has a good grasp of safety, manufacturing, the circular economy of batteries, and their future challenges.

135 hours, with 50 hours of contact teaching.

Contents
Chemistry of Li-ion batteries, making of composite electrodes, cell types and their connections to modules and packs, Li-ion battery applications, use and (dis)charging behavior, recycling, reuse, safety, and overall view on the battery value chain.
