Learning Outcomes

Learning outcomes
The course aims at giving the student Finnish language skills, which makes them able to cope with everyday situations. They will learn how to make short and simple conversations in Finnish, and they will read different types of texts in Finnish. A special emphasis is put on the skills needed in job interviews.

Student's Workload

135 h, which contains 70 h of scheduled contact studies.
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Speaking and writing skills needed in everyday life, reading skills, conversation skills, job interviews.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5: The student is able to have relatively fluent discussions on typical issues of everyday life. They can read newspaper texts and texts on typical grocery products relatively well.
Grade 3: The student is able to have discussions on typical issues of everyday life. They can read newspaper texts and texts on typical grocery products without significant problems.
Grade 1: The student is able to have discussions on typical issues of everyday life while given some help. They can read simple newspaper texts and simple texts on typical grocery products with a little help.

Assessment Methods

Active participation in the classroom, passed exercises, an exam or a corresponding exercise.
