Learning Outcomes

The student becomes familiar with electronics design, design software (PADS) and its use. The student produces a printed circuit board (PCB) at the laboratory, attaches the planned components and test the functioning.

Student's Workload

81 h, which contains 42 h of scheduled contact studies.
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses

Direct Current Circuits, Digital Electronics, Electronics.

Contents

PADS software, design of electric circuit, linking it to the layout of the PCB, simulation of its functionality. Producing and testing the PCB in the laboratory.

Recommended or Required Reading and Other Learning Resources/Tools

Material produced by the lecturer.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, computer aided design and laboratory work.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5: The student knows the properties of electric circuits and can apply her/his knowledge of information technology in solving a given problem of the field.
Grade 3: The student is able to design a simple circuit and verify its operation by simulation.
Grade 1: The student knows the operational mechanism of the most essential components of electronics, as well as the tools of electronics design.

Assessment Methods

Assignments.
