Learning Outcomes
The student learns the operational mechanism and use of the FPGA circuits and how to use the VHDL language in executing digital applications. The student becomes familiar with the design of programmable system circuits.

Digital Electronics; Microprosessors, Controllers and Interfacing.
Contents
Structure and properties of FPGA circuits, switches, lights and multiplexors, numbers and displays, latches, flip-flops and registers, counters, finite-state machines, implementation of a RAM module.

Material provided by the lecturer.

Lectures and laboratory work. The course requires continuous attendance.
Assessment Criteria
Grade 5: The student is able to execute a complete digital system with FGPA circuits.
Grade 3: The student can independently execute logic implementations with an FGPA circuit.
Grade 1: The student knows the basics of programmable logic circuits.

An examination and laboratory reports.
