Learning Outcomes
The student will gain better fluency in using the Finnish language in various everyday life situations, such as telling about your education and wortk, applying for a job, managing everyday chores, such shopping, dealing with authorities, libraries, banks. Revision of earlier learning.

Contents
Speaking exercises in common social situations. Practice in pronunciation, using of common phrases, learning to manage time forms and politeness forms in Finnish.

Material provided by the teacher and worked out by the students in teams under the supervision of the teacher.

Speaking practice in teams and in pairs.
Assessment Criteria
Grade 5: The student has an excellent command of everyday spoken Finnish and the student can apply the attained knowledge and skills in a versatile manner.
Grade 3: The student has a good command of everyday spoken Finnish and the student can apply the knowledge and skills in practice.
Grade 1: The student has a satisfactory command of everyday spoken Finnish.
Assessment Methods
Continuous assessment with 75% minimum active attendance in contact teaching fulfilled. Tests as set by the teacher.
Further Information
The Finnish students studying in the degree programme complete either Engineering Swedish (Tekniikan ruotsi , 4 cr) if their language of primary and secondary education has been Finnish or 4 cr of engineering oriented Finnish studies if their language of primary and secondary education has been Swedish. This is to meet the skills requirements of the other national language.
