Learning Outcomes

The student knows the fundamentals in renovation building, essential ways of action, most usual damages to the building and tehir renovation solutions. The emphasis is on 20th century buildings.

Student's Workload

Total work load 56 h of which 28 scheduled studies and 28 autonomous studies.
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

History of buildings to be renovated, old structural parts, technical aging, stress factors and damages, renovation plans, concrete renovations.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, teaching dialogue, independent study/assignments, class exercises. A project with an annually changing theme.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1: The student knows the contents of the study unit that are relevant in working life.
Grade 3: The student is able to utilise the information and skills learnt during the study unit.
Grade 5: The student is able to utilise and apply the information and skills learnt during the study unit.
