Learning Outcomes
The student will be able to produce parametric 3D- solid and surface models of various components. He or she is also able to combine these models to assemblies as well as to present the designs in a form of engineering drawings. The student understands the basic concepts of a PLM system and knows the principles of its function as a part of technical information system.
Student's Workload
Total work load of the course: 135 h, of which
- scheduled studies: 70 h
- autonomous studies: 65 h
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.
Contents
The principle of feature-based modeling, creating features and their hierarchy. Building a part model, sketching and using constraints. Parametric dimensions and constraints. Making of the various features, copying and patterning. Assembly modelling, constraints and exploded views. Manufacturing drawings, assembly and exploded assembly drawings, part lists, rendered pictures. Basics of surface modeling. Sheet metal models.
PLM: Items, documents, Product models and structures, revisions. Configurable products. PLM standards and systems.
