Learning Outcomes
The course aims at giving the student Finnish language skills, which makes her able to cope with everyday-life occasions. She will learn how to make short and simple conversations in Finnish, and she will read different types of texts in Finnish. A special emphasis is put on the skills needed in job interviews.
Student's Workload
135 h, which contains 70 h of scheduled contact studies.
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Assessment Criteria
Grade 5: The student is able to have relatively fluent discussions on typical issues of everyday life. She can read newspaper texts and texts on typical grocery products relatively well.
Grade 3: The student is able to have discussions on typical issues of everyday life. She can read newspaper texts and texts on typical grocery products without significant problemsl.
Grade 1: The student is able to have discussions on typical issues of everyday life while given some help. She can read simple newspaper texts and simple texts on typical grocery products with a little help.
Assessment Methods
Active participation in the classroom, passed exercises, an examination or a corresponding exercise.
