Learning Outcomes
The student understands the basic atmospheric processes. She/he is familiar with the topical problems related to air quality and climate change, and is able to participate in professional discussion as well as to justify future development needs.
The student is able to identify the main air pollutants, their health and environmental effects and their sources and methods of analysis. She/he is able to assess the significance of different factors from the point of view of air quality, climate change and other environmental effects.
Student's Workload
The total amount of student's work is 54 h, which contains 28 h of contact studies.
Contents
Basic terminology of air protection and climate change and international aims. Structure and functioning of the atmosphere, atmospheric chemistry. Air quality control. Ozone depletion and climate change. Effects of energy production and transport on air quality.
