Learning Outcomes

The student develops readiness to build systems for environmental and quality management. He/she is able to chart structures and descriptions required in EMS and QMS.

Student's Workload

Total work load of the course 135 h, of which scheduled studies 70 h and autonomous studies 65 h.

No prerequisites.

Contents

The most common environmental and quality management systems. Differences and common points between ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards. Constructing a small environmental or quality management system or a part of it.

Recommended or Required Reading and Other Learning Resources/Tools

Materials indicated by the Lecturer and independent information search.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Construction of EMS or QMS carried out as a project. This is supported by lectures and individual guidance by the lecturer according the course time schedule. Independent information search will be required.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1: The student knows those subjects of the course, which are necessary for the forthcoming studies and working life.

Grade 3: The student is well-abled to utilize the course contents.

Grade 5: The student is able to apply creatively the contents of the course.

Assessment Methods

The course grade will be based on the management system produced during the course: the parts of the system and a final report.
