Learning Outcomes
The student can the environmental impact assessment legislation, it's background and develpoment process. The students is acquainted with the principles and goals of EIA as well as it's charcteristics, functionality, quality and the future development challenges.

Common core basic studies.
Contents
European spatial development planning strategies, legislation for environmental impact assessment, principles, goals and characteristics of environmental impact assessment processes, functionality of EIA legislation, future orientation and risk management in assessment, ethics and motivation for environmental impact assessment, areas of future procedures and methodology development.
Recommended or Required Reading and Other Learning Resources/Tools
Legislation for environmental impact assessment, reference material guidelines given at the beginning of the study unit and documentation supplied by the teacher.
Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods
Lectures 14 h, research and project work reports and group work tasks 14, individual course portfolio 26 h.
Assessment Criteria
Grade 5: The student shows development tendency, masters the requirements and the contents of the study unit and can apply what s/he has learn in independent work excellently. The student has completed all assignments in a given time.
Grade 3: The student masters the majority of requirements and the contents of the study unit and is able to apply well what s/he has learnt in independent work. The student has completed all requires assignments. Grade 1: The student shows that s/he knows some of the requirements and contents of the study unit and can apply what s/he has learn when assisted. The student has completed all required assignments with grade pass.
Assessment Methods
Individual course portfolio, written reports and group project works 50%. Activity shown in participation, group work skills and publlic presentation of the reports and group work projects, written exam 50%.
