Learning Outcomes

By performing laboratory experiments the student deepens his/her knowledge on selected water treatment methods studied on the courses Water Chemistry and Water and Wastewater Treatment Methods. By evaluating the performance of the studied water treatment methods, the student familiarises himself/herself with the relevant analytical techniques as well as treatment and reporting of experimental data.

Student's Workload

The total amount of student´s work is 54 h, which contains 28 h of contact studies.

Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses

Chemistry, Chemistry Laboratory Exercises, Occupational Safety and Safety in the Laboratory, Environmental Laboratory Exercises, Water Chemistry, Introduction to Technical Mathematics. Water and Wastewater Treatment Processes is studied parallelly.

Contents

Laboratory exercises on selected water treatment methods such as flocculation, flotation, chlorine disinfection, phosphate removal and membrane processes. The effect of the treatments is studied by determining the values of selected quality parameters of treated and untreated water.
