Contents
Structure and bonding in organic compounds, functional groups, nomenclature, types of reactions, and properties related to the structure of compounds. Examples from essential applications of organic chemistry in common life and environmental issues.

Lectures, home work, two laboratory exercises.
Assessment Criteria
Grade 1: The student knows those subjects of the course, which are necessary for the forthcoming studies and working life.
Grade 3: The student is well-abled to utilize the course contents.
Grade 5: The student is able to apply creatively the contents of the course.
Assessment Methods
Numeric Assessment. Two tests or one final exam, 84%. Laboratory reports, 16%. It will be possible to improve the degree by active home work.
