Learning Outcomes
To study the built environment as an integral part of a larger natural entity, to rethink the nature-built environment relation, to get familiar with a holistic approach when researching the synergies between the man-made environments and the nature base. To get acquainted with the cultural dimension of the built environment and to investigate the value of locality as well as the conditions for future development.
Contents
The historical development of the nature-built environment relation, urbanism and cultural environments, locality and building tradition, housing history and settlements, future trends of built environment, the basic qualities of the built environment, principles in environmental aesthetics and psychology, environmental ethics.
