Learning Outcomes
The students are familiar with the basic inherent functions and modes of operation as well as how to connect the processor to the periferals of a computer. The students are familiar with the principles of hardware-oriented programming and knows how to connect the post common periferals to micro controllers.
Student's Workload
Total student time allotment 108 h out of which schedualed work 56 h and autonomous student work of reporting and getting acquainted with the issue 52 h.

Contents
Introduction:
Logic operations of hexadecimal numbers and bytes.
Structure and operation of a micro computer:
Processor, memories and busses.
External signals, interruptions, interface data and tag coding.
Semiconductor memories,
Grouping,
Erasable and programmable read-only-memory.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods
Assignments in the computer class (42 h ) connected with shoet lectures. To finish with, project group work (14 h) in the laboratory.
Assessment Criteria
1: The student knows how to count logic operations in hexadecimal numbers and is familiar with the main principles of a computer construction.
3: The student knows how to write simple hardware-oriented programming.
5: The student is well acquainted with the structure of a microcomputer and knows how to encode independently by means of the development environment basic programmes of embedded systems.
Assessment Methods
Scoring at assessment by assignments (20 cr), exam (30 cr) and project (10 cr).
