Learning Outcomes

The student will master the basics of various telecommunication protocols and telecommunication methods, be able to compare various options in telecommunications with respect to costs, efficiency and reliability and be able to design a computer network. He will know the development in the branch, basic techniques of most important common data networks, and be able to follow the literature of the branch.

Contents

Serial communication, modems; open architecture in telecommunications, IEEE Local Area Network standards especially ethernet and its applications, network management programs. Designing, documentation and management of a network. Most common network protocols, OSI model and TCP/IP.
