Learning Outcomes
The student is introduced to the basic phenomena and variables in electrical engineering as well as to the calculation of static electrical field and DC circuits. The student is able to apply the learned methods for calculating simple phenomena of DC circuits. The student is introduced to induction and basics of AC circuits and is able to solve basic problems concerning AC circuits.
Contents
Phenomena and variables of static electric field, electrical strength of insulation structures. Variables and basic laws related to DC circuits. Properties of power supplies, DC circuit connections and calculation methods. Electromagnetic induction, inductance and generation of alternating current. Instantaneous value, mean value and effective value of AC current. Resistance, inductance and capacitance in single-phase AC circuits.
