Learning Outcomes
The student can tell about her/his education in English and can manage a telephone conversation in English, describe a company in the field of electrical engineering and an electroctechnical product both orally and in writing. S/he understands the main points from texts dealing with electrical engineering, has the basic vocabulary on electrical engineering and can write technical texts in English.

Oral and written communication needed in working life, e.g. telling about education, telephoning, company/product presentation. Vocabulary and texts in the field of electrical engineering, texts and reports on the theme.

Assessment Criteria
Grade 5: The student is able to communicate fluently, almost without mistakes, both in speech and in writing. S/he has an extensive vocabulary of the field and understands field-specific texts without difficulty.
Grade 3: The student knows the essential vocabulary and understands the texts in the field. S/he is able to participate in a work-related conversation, with occasional mistakes and errors in the speech.
Grade 1: The student knows the basic vocabulary of the field and understands the main points of texts in the field. S/he can follow work discussions and can give a presentation by reading it from the paper.

Exams, continuous assessment, completed home assignments, active participation in contact teaching.
