Learning Outcomes

The student learns the measuring methods and couplings for the most usual single and three-phase quantities and use and principles of the measuring and monitoring equipment used. In addition, the student can choose an appropriate measuring method and equipment foe each measurement, taking the safety aspect and accuracy requirements into account. Te student understands the principle of the computer-based measuring system and can configure such a system for various measuring applications.

Student's Workload

The total amount of student's work is 54 h, which contains 28 h of contact studies.

Contents

Current. voltage, power, power factor and energy measurements. Various methods to measure resistance, capacitance and inductance. The use of oscilloscope to measure AC power quantities. Measuriog transducers. The use and couplings of instrument transformers. Fault detection and position measurements. The principle and configuration of computer-based measuring systems.
