Learning Outcomes

The student is familiar with the operating principles of the components used in electrical utilities and with the factors that need to be considered when choosing the components. The student has a comprehension of calculation of electric power networks, their structure and management of fault situations.
The student is familiar with the principles employed in the design and the implementation of electrical installations and wiring in buildings.
The student will get practise in autonomous working and workin in groups in the laboratory. The student will develop the skills in writing a report in English.

Contents

The following study units belong to the module: Electrical Utilities, Electric Power Networks and Electrical Installations

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

During the study units of the module components of electrical utilities, switching station structures, calculation methods of electric power networks and basic properties are dealt with. The study units include calculation examples and applications.
The basics of designing electrical instalaltions for buildings are also part of the module.
The students will complete assignments independently and experimental measurements in groups in the laboratory. The knowledge acquired in the study units will be applied in the Power Distribution project, the report of which is written in English.
