Learning Outcomes

The student masters the controls of the actuators commonly used in industry and how to use them in typical solutions.

Student's Workload

Total work load of the course 82 h
Scheduled studies 44 h
Autonomous studies 38 h

Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses

Automation common core theme, Basics of Electric Drives

Contents

During the course the student becomes familiar with the most common actuators like motors, frequency converters, controlles, valves, switches and disconnectors. He learns the basic operatios, controls and the typical signals and their handling in the program. The control programs are based on the actuator dependent program blocks and structural control programs based on the use of the blocks made.
