Learning Outcomes

The student learns to interpret technical and electrical drawings. After completing the course, the student can draw up various simple technical and electrical drawings and to choose an appropriate representation.

Student's Workload

Total work load of the course: 81 h
- of which scheduled studies: 42 h
- of which autonomous studies: 39 h

Contents

The student is introduced to the basics of technical drawing and to the control of electro-mechanical relay and contactor and use in operating couplings.
Various operating couplings are studied as well as the operation of control and main circuits in a motor starter implemented as a push-button control in accordance with the standards.
Exercises on technical drawing using CAD software are completed, starting from simple electrical drawing symbols for making an electrical drawing and their modifications and advancing to an assembly drawing for a push-button controlled motor starter centre. The components used are the same as used in the motor starter centre during the Implementation of the Motor Starter-project.
