Learning Outcomes
The student can solve and take into consideration circuit transients, is familiar with the Fourier method of wave form analysis and principles of behaviour of surge transients. The student can solve the electrical problems with PC software.
Student's Workload
Total work load of the course: 80 h
- of which scheduled studies: 42 h
- of which autonomous studies: 28 h
Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses
DC circuits, AC circuits and Calculation methods of circuits
Contents
Circuits with one capacitor or inductance are solved as a result of differential equations, more complicated circuits are solved with the Laplace transform method. The Fourier method is used to determine frequencies in non-sinusoidal circuits, effective values of voltage, current and power. Surge transients are studied particularly in non-continuity points. In PC exercises the main calculation methods of electric circuit are employed.
