Learning Outcomes
The student knows the principles of modern closed-loop motor drives and knows how to apply this knowledge in the parametering of the drive. In cage motor control, the student is introduced to the properties of scalar, vector and direct torque control. The student is familiar with cycloconverter controlled synchronous machines. The student is familiar with the reference value chain of speed and torque control in multi-motor drives.
Contents
DC motor speed and current control, the transfer function of the control and the tuning of the controller. Cage motor control with scalar, vector and direct torque control. Synchronous motor control with cycloconverter. Applications of controlled motor drives. Creating reference value chain for a real motor drive system. Examples of controlling an entire multi-motor process. The applications are selected so that the theory can be complemented in the laboratory part of the study unit, where closed loop motor drives are studied and parametered in practice.
