Learning Outcomes
During this course a student learns the basics of the theory of probability and statistics. In the theory of probability she learns the precise meaning of the concept of probability, and to calculate probabilities from the given data. She also learns the most important probability distributions, especially the normal distribution. In statistics she learns to interpret statistical data, and to calculate the values of certain statistical variables characterizing the data.
Student's Workload
The total amount of student's work is 54 h, which contains 41 h of contact studies.
Prerequisites / Recommended Optional Courses
Analysis
Contents
How to collect, treat, present and draw deductions from statistical data. Calculation of indices. Rules of probability and probability distributions. Regression analysis and correlation coefficients. Applications specific to degree programme.
