Learning Outcomes

The student is familiar with different types of converter drives and understands their effect on the supply network. The student knows how to rate and protect the power electric components of the converter.

Contents

Harmonic currents and voltages of converter drives and how to reduce them. Reactive power produced by converters. Static reactive power compensation. The rating of the transformers for converter loads. Rating and protection of converter components. Applications of converter technology in motor drives.
