Learning Outcomes

Compulsory modules covering the areas that lie within human factors in health and safety at work. The aim is to give an understanding of the human factors and health and safety issues across a range of sectors where the costs and consequences of human error can be high. Safety at Work certificate (Työturvallisuuskortti).

Student's Workload

Total work load of the course: 54 h
- of which scheduled studies: 28 h
- of which autonomous studies: 26 h
The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

Major rules in safety at work. Safety working in different circumtances and possible dangers. Preventing accidents. Action in the case of different kind of accidents.

PowerPoint representation in WebCT. Other material delivered by a teacher.

Contact teaching. Material delivered via computer networks.

Assessment Criteria

1: The student is able, with guidance, to utilise themethods learnt during the study unit.
3: The student is able to utilise the methods learnt during the study unit independently.
5: The student is able to utilise the methods learnt during the study unit independently and combine the knowledge with previously learnt in various contexts.

Assessment Methods

Participation min. 60 % of lessons. Written exam where min. 75 % must be right to pass the course.
