The student is able to design simple wooden structures while taking into account the structural and building physical properties of wood.

Contents

Principles in the design of wooden structures, sawn timber products; structural and structural-physical properties of wood structure; dimensioning of wooden structural elements under normal stress. Structural systems.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, the design of a wooden detached house with CAD prints as prpject assignment .

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1: The student knows the contents of the study unit that are relevant in working life.
Grade 3: The student is able to utilise the information and skills learnt during the study unit.
Grade 5: The student is able to utilise and apply the information and skills learnt during the study unit.

Assessment Methods

Exam 70% and project 30%.
