Learning Outcomes
The student will understand the effect of the loads on the structures used in normal practice, understands the function of simple, structurally determinate structures and can analyse structures.
Contents
Equilibrium of the structures. The stresses of the rod members; tension and compression, bending and shear, torsion. Internal normal-, shear-, bending moment- and torsion force diagrams. Statically determinate beams, frames, arches and truss structures. Influence lines. Computer applications.
