Learning Outcomes
The student is able to act as a specialist in his/her own field, as a designer of challenging structures and to develop the field. The stduent is able to utilise the latest knowhow in the field. The student will implement a development project in co-operation with work community, project organisation and specialists in the field.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods
The student has the responsibility of the advancement and the success of the thesis. A teacher who is a specialist in the field of the topic of the thesis will be appointed as a supervisor for the thesis. The supervisor's task is to encourage and give help both in the thesis substance and process.
The thesis is divided into three stages. In the first stage the student will present his/her thesis project plan to the supervisor and other students, in which the objective, purpose, structure, methods and preliminary sources of the thesis can be seen. In the second stage the student presents the interim report, which includes the frame of reference. In the final stage the stduent presents a finished thesis. There is a compulsory presence in the thesis seminars.
Assessment Criteria
The supervisor of the thesis and another examinor assess thet sisin co-operation. Attention is paid to e.g. to the followng facts:
the significance of the results to the company, thesis process, contents of the report, format of the report, quality of the oral presentation and the student's ability to solve problems independently.
Grade 1: The student knows the resrearch and development methods that are relevant in working life.
Grade 3: The student is able to utilisethe research and development methods used i working life.
Grade 5: The student is able to utilise research and development methods creatively.
Assessment Methods
Thesis and its presentation seminar are assessed.
