Learning Outcomes
The student will learn to calculate the effects of friction in machine elements and he learn to use the principle of virtual work. The student will be able to choose the most important mechanical units for automatic machines and applications.

Contents
Sliding friction, wedges, screws, friction of sliding bearing, friction of rolling, friction of ropes, the principle of virtual work and pulley blocks. Mechanisms, gearings, clutchs and elements of linear motion.
