Learning Outcomes

The student will get an overview of the telecommunication engineering, master the concepts related to the subject, understand the general phenomena appearing in it and know how to apply knowledge to practice.

Student's Workload

The total amount of student's work is 189 h, containing 98 h of scheduled contact studies.

Basics of Computer Networks.

Contents

The concepts, units and methods of the telecommunication engineering. Signals and Spectra. Types of modulations. Noise. Electromagnetic fields and waves; filters, transmission lines, antennas and propagation of radio waves. Optical transmission. Basic idea of different telecommunication equipment, networks and systems.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, assignments and laboratory exercises.

Assessment Criteria

1: The student understands at least 40% of lecture content.
3: The student understands at least 60% of lecture content.
5: The student understands at least 90% of lecture content and is able to do advanced design and calculation of telecommunication system.

Assessment Methods

Assignments, laboratory exercises and an examination. Numerical grading.
