Learning Outcomes

This course is the continuation of Digital Electronics I. The main focuses are on Sequential logic circuits and their applications in digital systems. The course will also introduce advanced topics such as memory devices, microprocessors, PLDs and FPGAs. This course will give the fundamentals and strong basis to students who wish to undertake any subject related to embedded systems, telecommunication and software engineering.

The total amount of student's work is 81 h, containing 42 h of scheduled contact studies.

1: Student is able to describe the important building block for most sequential circuits.
3: Student is able to design synchronous and asynchronous systems.
5: Students can describe the timing diagrams and functional blocks of an 8 bit microprocessor system.
