Learning Outcomes
Advancement of telecommunication theory through practical laboratory exercises. Student will learn basics of telecommunication measurement equipment, use of telecommunications software and configuration of different systems. Student will manage the design and implementation of computer network services.

Contents
Exercises related to wireless and fixed line networks. Services of a computer network: NAT, firewall, DHCP, DNS, network drive and printer services, network scanning and IDS. Routing and VLAN, digital filters, Network Management with Cisco Works.

Laboratory exercises in groups of 3-4 students.
Assessment Criteria
1: The student will complete exercises moderately with the assistance and is able to report the results
3: The student will complete exercises well without the major assistance and is able to analyse the results in the report
5: Student will complete exercises excellent without assistance and is able to analyse and draw conclusions in the report
