Learning Outcomes
The objective of the course is to get students familiar with Linux operating system, its structure and functionality. After the course, students must have a good knowledge of most used commands in Linux operating system, feel compfortable to work under Linux operating system, be able to handle files, processes and write shell scripts. The contents of the course will be the followings: structure of Linux operating system, Linux commands, grep, sed, awk, file handling and processing, links, input/ouput redirection, filters and shell scripts.

Goal of the course is to introduce Linux operating system to students and make them understand basic Linux commands and write shell scripts in Linux Bash language.

Assessment Methods
In order to pass the course the student must send solutions for all specified exrecises before the deadlines, do the project work and pass the examination. Also active participation to the discussions related to the course is required. The course grade is made up by 60% of total points recieved from the exam, 20% of total points recieved from the exercise works and 20% of total points recieved from the project work.
