Learning Outcomes

The student masters the principles of sustainable development. The student is able to relate current discussion and development needs to sustainable development. The student is able to identify the factors having essential role on human well-being and functioning of our environment, and future development needs.
The student understands the concept of eco-efficiency. The student is able to use the common tools for assessing eco-efficiency, like LCA, MIPS, carbon footprint.

Contents

Different aspects of sustainable development. Indicators for sustainable development. Global view on environmental issues. Current topics of sustainable development.
Ecp-efficiency. MIPS and life cycle analysis and their application in product development.
