Learning Outcomes

The student can calculate the values of operation in different power plant processes and the costs of energy production. He knows the methods to calculate the operating values for equipments in firing and flow systems in power plants and can participate to the design of electricity and heat processes and to the selection of auxiliary equipments. The student is able to understand the phases of power plant projects.
The student understands the principles of natural gas systems and the possibilities to use natural gas, as well as the methods to calculate the operating values of the processes.
The student is familiarized with energy production using a synchronous generator and control and protection equipment required. The student understands the function of the synchronous generator when directly-coupled and in islanded use. The student will obtain basic knowledge of the structure of a power plant internal consumption network.
