Learning Outcomes

The student knows Basic Project Management terminology and knowledge areas. Furthermore the student is familiar with central documents and elements required in project management, such as a project plan, time schedule, budget and a risk assessment matrix. The student understands the basic principles of project management.

Contents

Basic terminology in Project Management, Project Management knowledge areas (PMBOK), basic documentation for a project.

Recommended or Required Reading and Other Learning Resources/Tools

A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide), 4th or newer edition.
SFS-ISO 21500, Guidance on Project Management
Other material given by lecturer.

Lectures, group work, project work and exercises.

Assessment Criteria

5: The student is able to utilize the methods learnt during the study unit independently and is able apply the learnt knowledge in new contexts.

Assessment Methods

Numerical assessment: examination 50%, project work 50%.
