Learning Outcomes

After completing the coarse the student will understand the factors which have the effect to the energy consumption of the buildings and how to reach the objectives of the energy consumption given in codes and regulations for the buildings. The student can evaluate the total energy consumption of the buildings including energy production, renewable energy, and energy consumption of structures and the technical systems of the building.

The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

The different heat product systems of the building; district heating, the heat pump systems, solar collectors and –panels. The evaluation of the energy consumption and the heating efficiency need of the buildings including structures, ventilation- and monitored control systems, heat distribution, the effect of the service water and residents.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The theoretical background is dealed in the lectures. The knowledge is deepened with the project work. In addition during the course is done the visit to the district heating plant or to some factory where heat pumps are made.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5: The student is able to apply creatively the contents of the course.
Grade 3: The student is well-abled to utilize the course contents.
Grade 1: The student knows those subjects of the course, which are necessary for the forthcoming working life.

Assessment Methods

The exam 60 % and the technical content of the project work 40 %
