The aim of the course is to help the student to grasp the main features and principles of electrical systems, which will make it easier to integrate individual subjects into a bigger picture in the future.

Contents
The basic electrical phenomena and principles of operation such as generator (electromagnetic induction), transformer and electric motor (electromagnetic induction), short circuit and earth fault. Basic electrical laws. Sinusoidal alternating current and its generation from mechanical energy. Instantaneous, average and effective values of alternating current. Resistance, inductance and capacitance in an AC circuit. Solving a single phase AC circuit.
