Learning Outcomes
This course serves as a bridge between secondary education and higher education studies. The purpose of the course is to strengthen students' mathematical skills so that they can successfully handle basic and professional subject studies.
In the course, primary school mathematics is reviewed and calculations are practiced using only a pen and paper. In addition, the most important topics of secondary school mathematics are taught.
Student's Workload
The total workload is 135 hours. The total workload is divided as follows: 50 hours of scheduled study and 85 hours of independent work by the student.
Self-assessment of learning: 1 hour.

Contents
Basic arithmetic operations with pen and paper: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Definition of power and rules for calculations.
Square root and calculating its approximation with pen and paper
Solving first and second-degree equations.
Percentage calculations
Trigonometry of a right-angled triangle. Properties and calculations of plane figures and solid shapes.
Other possible topics depending on students' progress.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods
The course can be completed with a passing exam.
Instruction consists of short teaching sessions and group calculations. The course is divided into modules by topic. The goal is to pass each module. Module exams are conducted either on paper or electronically, at the teacher's discretion.
Assessment Criteria
The course is graded on a pass/fail scale. To receive a passing grade, the student must pass the initial exam held at the beginning of the course OR all the individual module exams.
