Learning Outcomes

The student understands the role of the management systems as a part of sustainable business. The student is familiar with the common management standards and develops abilities to build standard-based management systems.

The student understands the structure and meaning of enviromental laws, and knows the most common enviromental permits. The student can use the law databases.

Student's Workload

Total work load for the student 135 h, including scheduled studies and autonomous work. The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

Management systems and standards for environmental, quality and health and safety issues, combined management systems.

Environmental Protection Act and the application process for Environmental permit. Act on Environmental Impact Assessment Procedure and it's goals, application and the process of EIA. The essential content of laws governing land and water use and disposal of waste.

Selected Environmental laws and standards, lectures, material shared by the teacher, information sources given at the beginning of the course.

Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lectures, team and homework.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1: The student has the essential knowledge of the course.
Grade 3: The student can utilize well the knowledge from the course.
Grade 5: The student can creatively apply the knowledge from the course.

Exam and assignments. Numerical grading.
