Learning Outcomes
The student understands texts pertaining to the field of engineering and working life in general and has a working vocabulary in the field. The students can draw up technical texts and documents. The student recognises the various registers of language and can write appropiate texts. The student is able to communicate on various topics in working life and within engineering.
Student's Workload
The total work load 81 hrs, of which scheduled studies 42 hrs, and autonomous studies 39 hrs.
The assessment of student’s own learning 1h is included in contact lessons.

Telling about one's education, company and product presentation, technical and working life documents. job seeking and application, business correxpondence and telephoning, texts and vocabulary pertaining to the field of study.

Speaking and writing exercises, text analysis and reading comprehension exercises.
Assessment Criteria
Grade 5: The student has no difficulties in understanding texts pertaining to the field of study, has an extensive vocabulary and is able to express one's thoughts precisely, recognises the nuances of the language and can write a unified, detailed and effective report.
Grade 3: The student knows the most essential vocabulary and can understand most parts of texts pertaining to the field of study. The student is able to participate in discussions on the topic within engineering and is able to write clear and detailed text.
Grade 1: The student has a basic vocabulary in the field and understands the main points of a text of technical nature. The student is able to follow a discussions on a technical topic or working life and is able to write a comprehensible report.
Assessment Methods
Exams, assignments, speaking proficiency test, and regular attendance. Assessment on scale 1-4/fail.
