Learning Outcomes

The student understands the structure and role of environmental legislation. The student is able to search information from legislation sources. The student is familiar with the studies, report and obligations related to land use planning. The student is acquainted with the guidance principles of community structure and functions.

The assessment of student’s own learning 1 h is included in contact lessons.

Contents

Finnish environmental legislation and its international connections. Environmental Protection Act and environmental permits. Act on Environmental Impact Assessment Procedure. Main aspects of legislation concerning soil, water, waste, health and environmental protection. Land Use Planning and Building Degree. Control means for environmental policies.

Grade 1: The student knows those subjects of the course, which are necessary for the forthcoming studies and working life.

Grade 3: The student is well-abled to utilize the course contents.
